EBCI Internship Program
The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) government is excited to announce the return of its highly successful Internship Program, now entering its second year. This 12-week paid program provides young adults interested in public service with invaluable experience and an in-depth understanding of tribal government operations. The program starts June 1st and runs through August 21st, 2026. Interns will earn an hourly wage of $15.00 per hour.
The program is open to candidates ranging from 16-24 years of age. Some intern positions are open to high school students, and recent high school graduates enrolled in accredited higher education institutions. There are additional intern positions open to those who are not necessarily pursuing higher education, but who are equally passionate about public service and eager to learn how local government operates.
Selected interns will gain professional development through skills and leadership training, mentoring, networking with executive leadership, field excursions, short-term projects and hands-on experience. This paid opportunity is designed to equip interns with the skills, tools, and resources needed for long-term success in their careers.
EBCI employs approximately 13,000 individuals dedicated to serving the community residents, businesses and visitors. With more than 12 divisions, EBCI offers a broad range of opportunities to make a positive difference in the community.

- Operations
