Truck Driver / WWT Maintenance
Description

Drives and operates CDL required vehicles; hauling and pulling heavy loads safely to specified locations. Performs maintenance duties within the Waste Water Treatment Plant, lift stations, and package plants, in the most efficient and cost effective manner. Complies with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, ordinances, policies and permits.

Responsibilities
  • Drives dump truck to composting area and designated spots to dump biosolids and pulls heavy equipment trailers
  • Drives pump/VAC truck to various sites to pump out download of solids from manholes/tanks.
  • Operates heavy equipment, such as bobcats and backhoes.
  • Monitors and records gauge readings of influent and effluent, check motors, pumps, and all other equipment on a designated schedule.
  • Maintains all mechanical equipment and performs preventive maintenance of the pumps and related equipment in the Wastewater Treatment Plant systems.
  • Cleans the belt press system along with the Alkaline system and washes screens and horizontal conveyors as well as washes and scrubs the tanks and UV system lights.
  • Performs maintenance on; (press, conveyors, roto lock, engines, mixers/agitators, sensors).Clean and maintain system (press, conveyors, roto lock, engines, mixers/agitators, sensors).
  • Maintains the grounds and buildings of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and inspects the generators weekly and repairs if necessary.
  • Cleans and maintains all Wastewater piping’s/lines.
  • Participates in training and safety programs as required.
Scope of Supervision

This position is not responsible for supervising others. This position receives direction from WWTP operational leadership.

Minimum Mandatory Qualifications

Experience: One (1) year of related experience required.

Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.

Licenses & Certifications: Valid, insurable NC Class B CDL Driver’s License required.
