Truck Driver/Operator
Description

Operates heavy, medium duty and light duty vehicles in the delivery of equipment or supplies to designated sites. Loads and unloads supplies.

Responsibilities
  • Drives heavy, medium and light duty trucks (tractor/trailer/dump/hydro seeder/supply) in the delivery of material such as hydro seeding, dirt, gravel, and hauls stumps and debris, subject building material and related.
  • Drives and can operate crane truck.
  • Mobilizes/delivers equipment/material such as dozer, backhoe, track hoe, loader, grader, packer and other site support related.
  • Must be able to load and unload equipment.
  • Operates fork lift periodically for warehouse (becoming certified through safety officer).
  • Assists with site support operations such as hydro seeding, installing erosion control items, spreading gravel, etc.
  • Delivers equipment to selected service departments for major repairs as instructed.
  • Coordinates his/her daily work schedule according to priority as received or instructed in emergency situations.
  • Ensures a proper safe delivery and mobilization on an individual basis.
  • Coordinates the routine maintenance and/or repair of the respected vehicle.
  • Assists (as needed) the Head Mechanic in evaluation of major repairs/services.
  • Assists with preparation of parts, labor estimates/list, on as requested basis.
  • Assists with the loading and unloading of materials etc. as received or delivered.
  • Picks up debris and hauls to landfill as encountered or instructed.
  • Performs daily deliveries of materials to job sites, and picks up any unused material and trash. Assists with warehouse maintenance operations, which includes mowing, weed eating, picking up trash, cleaning vehicles during down time.
  • Keeps vehicle log updated on a daily basis.
  • Keeps vehicle and area in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Performs all work in an accurate, safe manner in accordance with the QHA policies and procedures.
  • Willing to work above and beyond the standard tour of duty (subject to on call status).
Scope of Supervision

This position is supervised by program leadership. This position is not responsible for supervising others.

Minimum Mandatory Qualifications

Experience: Two (2) year of related experience required.

Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.

Licenses & Certifications: Valid North Carolina Class A, Commercial Driver’s License with all health certificates is required and must meet QHA requirements to operate a company vehicle. A tanker endorsement is required to drive Hydroseeder.
