Training And Development Specialist
Description

Responsible for implementing training initiatives, plans, strategies and process to help Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians reach its goals, by preparing and modifying training materials, and Training Tribal personnel on EBCI principles and other key governmental operations training, primarily delivered through classroom participation and related practical experience.

Responsibilities
  • Confer with managers and conduct training needs assessments.
  • Develop and design training needs assessments; training program curriculum; and training measures.
  • Develop and conduct training programs to facilitate employee development.
  • Develop and maintain training evaluation measures and metrics.
  • Develop select teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference workshops.
  • Develop training schedules and training venues, maintain efficient communication of plans with management teams, including deputy officers, directors, manager, etc. and participants.
  • Conduct Supervisory and Leadership Training on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Support team building activities.
  • Stay abreast of the new trends and tools in employee development.
  • Monitor and record training activities and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Schedule offsite and onsite training classes.
Scope of Supervision

This position is not responsible for supervising others. Works under the general direction of the Manager - Training & Development. Must be able to work independently, using a considerable amount of judgment and creative thinking. Receives minimal functional guidance.

Minimum Mandatory Qualifications

Experience: Four (4) years of related experience required. Experience in training and development.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field required.

Licenses & Certifications: Valid, insurable NC Driver’s License required.
