Performs labor-intensive tasks needed to assist in clearing, grading, and applying erosion control measures in site development. Operates program equipment and construction vehicles in a safe and proper manner. Performs work as a trainee under qualified and direct supervision.
- Receives daily instruction from supervisor. Gathers the necessary tools and loads necessary materials needed for the assigned job. Conducts site clearing, including tree removal. Installs erosion control measures such as silt fence, check dams (stone), mulch, synthetic fabrics, riprap, and drainage pipes. Assists in selection and installs measures for tree preservation. Operates heavy equipment or trucks as a trainee under direct supervision. Operates and/or assists in operating hydro seeding equipment for seeding finished sites. Participates in training, career development and safety programs. Performs all job duties according to established safety guidelines and Tribal policy. Performs other duties as assigned
This position is supervised by program leadership. This position is not responsible for supervising others.
Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be in lieu of degree, with required related experience of an additional 1 year.
Licenses & Certifications: Valid, insurable NC Driver’s License required.
