Responsible for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding all public areas. Plants flowers, mows, pulls weeds, repair structures, and maintains all of Public Areas.
- Completes work for daily operations of Public Works.
- Performs maintenance procedures in accordance with facility policy and at the direction of the Crew Leader – Public Works.
- Performs grounds keeping and building maintenance duties.
- Ensures the grounds are maintained to provide for mowing grass, trimming brush, and parking lots are clear of trash and debris.
- Performs required safety checks adjustments, and routing maintenance on all facility equipment along with required records keeping and audits.
- Mow lawn either by push mower or using a riding lawnmower.
- Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds and walls.
- Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs and bushes. Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth.
- Shovel snow from walkways and sprinkle ice melt down to keep people from falling.
- Cleans streets, sidewalks, parking lots in the public/business district of trash, debris, and other contaminants.
- Operates UTV with sprayer to clean weeds off the sidewalks in the public/business districts. Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger.Trim shrubs and pull weeds. Rake, mulch and prune the grounds as needed. Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer.
This position is supervised by program leadership. This position is not responsible for supervising others.
Experience: One (1) year of related experience required.
Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
Licenses & Certifications: Valid insurable NC driver’s license.
