Assists the Inventory Controller with the daily operations of Inventory. Maintains an inventory of all parts and materials used by the Tribal Construction Department and outside customers in the construction and repair of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
- Serves as the Inventory Controller for Inventory as requested (in the absence of the Controller). Assists the Inventory Controller with the daily operations and activities of Inventory Department.
- Performs annual audit and provides Manager & Inventory Controller with a yearly physical count of inventory.
- Assists the Inventory Controller by responding to requests for cost of parts for the preparation of bids or quotes.
- Maintains an inventory of all materials and parts used by the Tribal Construction Department. Documents parts and materials used on a daily basis maintaining current and complete inventory records.
- Monitors levels of inventory and reorders parts and materials needed, following established procedures for the ordering process.
- Assists in unloading trucks, as required, examines stock to verify conformance to specifications. Receives and records parts and materials, processing them according to inventory procedures.
- Stores supplies, parts, and materials in proper storage location and in a neat & orderly manner.
- Assists with the distribution of parts needed for daily job assignments on the water distribution and wastewater collection projects. Maintains stored materials, parts, and supplies in a neat and orderly manner.
- Orders safety gear as needed by Inventory and the Tribal Construction Department.
- Wears proper safety equipment to suit the task such as safety shoes, safety gloves, hard hat, etc. Ensures all personnel are aware of safety equipment available and have knowledge in its use.
- Performs stand by duties as requested and responds to emergency calls as requested.
This position is supervised by program leadership. This position is not responsible for supervising others.
Experience: Two (2) years of related experience required.
Education: Associate’s Degree in related field required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be in lieu of degree, with required related experience of an additional: 3 years with a High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
Licenses & Certifications: Valid, insurable NC Driver’s License required.
- Must be familiar with Tribal and department's policies and procedures for proper bidding, ordering, receipt and storage of parts, materials, and supplies.
- Requires the ability to execute a current inventory system of parts and materials received and dispersed.
- Must be familiar with identification of parts and number, be able to read and interpret requisitions and bid quotes.
- Requires the ability to organize work, complete and update all documentation pertaining to projects. Must have accurate computer skills.
