The Interactive Media Designer's primary job function is to create the overall look and feel of a wide range of interactive communication products, using text, data, graphics, sound, animation, and other digital and visual effects. The Interactive Media Designer will be responsible for the end-to-end process of transforming complex product requirements into visually stunning and highly functional user interfaces. The Interactive Media Designer will collaborate to continuously improve the quality and innovation of the user interface for products and enterprise systems.
- Create, develop, and manage content for Communication's and EBCl's web and broadcast presence.
- Organizes productions using high-end camera and audio equipment in staged and live settings.
- Use industry-standard specialized graphics and multimedia software packages for editing of professional grade media projects.
- Manage audio/video equipment and organize shoots as directed.
- Operate drone for aerial photography and videography as needed for productions and programs.
- Produce visuals for web pages, video production and publications including photography.
- Create offline multimedia and publications.
- Assist with audiovisual equipment for training and public information presentations.
- Assist with the conversion and compression of audio, video, and photos for streaming over the network.
- Coordinate media projects across departments, working with management teams to ensure creative output matches needs.
- Work with MS Office Applications Trainer to help produce online training information.
- Stay informed on current trends to keep the project on the cutting edge of technology and design.
- Communicate directly with clients to define and implement project requirements.
- Communicate project status to clients, and management.
- Once the project has been fully approved, the interactive media designer often works alongside application programmers, graphic designers, animators, sound engineers, production assistants and film producers, as well as the clients to produce the finished item.
This position is not responsible for supervising others. Work under the guidance of the Supervisor – Cultural Media. The ability to plan and work independently is required.
Experience: Two (2) years of related experience required. Experience to include using a variety of audio visual products and software.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be in lieu of degree, with required related experience of an additional: 5 years with a High School Diploma/GED equivalent; or 3 years with an Associate’s Degree.
Licenses & Certifications: Valid, insurable NC Driver’s License required.
