Performs daily inspection of all facilities in the Water Treatment system. This includes Pump Stations, Water Treatment Plant/Well Systems, etc. This is to insure continuance of operations of systems. As part of daily inspection procedures, water samples are collected at various sites throughout the system. Complies with all applicable local, state and federal regulations, ordinances, policies and permits.
- Meets with supervisor and coworkers to review/discuss projects, work orders, receive instructions and job assignments. Notifies proper personnel of any problems occurring within the system.
- Prepares for job assignments by reviewing work orders, researching system map and related documents, engineering prints, schematic maps and/or project files.
- Selects supplies and equipment based on geography location, nature, and scope of the job.
- Checks equipment and personal safety/protective devices to ensure safe operation and proper working order.
- Dresses out with appropriate safety gear such as safety vest, hard hat, gloves, safety glasses and hearing protection prior to the start of the project.
- Performs a variety of maintenance and repair duties on the water system, pump stations and lift stations.
- Performs a variety of operational duties such as flow and line flushing and isolation of water line leaks.
- Assists customers with a variety of service-related inquiries, investigates customer complaints and problems and takes appropriate action to resolve them within departmental guidelines.
- Performs final clean up, grounds maintenance and landscaping duties.
- Completes necessary documentations (i.e., project performed, materials used, time, and lists of any specifics of job).
- Participates in training and safety programs, including well operator’s certification and OSHA certifications, as required.
- Performs lab tests as required and necessary.

This position is not responsible for supervising others. This position is supervised by program leadership.
Experience: No experience required.
Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
Licenses & Certifications: Valid, insurable NC Driver’s License required. Receiver a NC Grade "C" Water License within the amount of time needed to receive 1 NC approved school and 3 opportunities to pass the examination (not to excced two years past hire date).
