Operates a wide range of heavy equipment at the Transfer Station facility in the safest, most efficient manner possible. Loads and packs solid waste and metal into transport trailer for proper disposal.
- Operates a variety of large equipment but not limited to loaders, track hoe, and a tub grinder.
- Sorts, loads, and packs solid waste and metal into trailers for transport.
- Assists with weigh master duties when necessary.
- Attends training sessions, seminars, conferences, and certification classes pertaining to this job.
- Performs job duties according to established safety guidelines (safety toed boots, safety goggles, and vests) and tribal policies.
- May at times be required to assist with duties of all 4 programs of the Solid Waste Department, including Collections, Transfer Station, Recycling, and Collections.
This position is supervised by program leadership. This position is not responsible for supervising others.
Experience: One (1) year of related experience required.
Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be in lieu of degree, with required related experience of an additional 1 year.
Licenses & Certifications: Valid, insurable NC Driver’s License required.
