Provides supervision and a variety of maintenance procedures in the repair, expansion, and upkeep of the EBCI Facilities, related buildings and Grounds. Duties are performed in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.
- Performs general grounds maintenance to the assigned areas.
- Prepares job site to ensure compliance of safety.
- Dresses out with appropriate safety gear such as safety vest, hardhat, gloves safety glasses and hearing protection prior to the start of the project.
- Mows grass, clears away debris and undergrowth, etc., as necessary.
- Performs pre-use check of equipment, which includes checking oil, belts, chains, and visual inspection of equipment to ensure that it is safe to operate.
- Assists with building and utility maintenance as needed.
- Performs minor repairs to equipment as needed.
- Lays sod, prunes, and trims shrubs and hedges at all greenway areas.
- Uses a wide range of equipment and tools such as weed eater, riding lawn mower, basic hand tools, hedge trimmer, power saw, etc.
- Oversees and performs final clean up, grounds maintenance duties.
- Assists other departments as needed.
- Performs duties according to established safety procedures and Tribal policy.
This position is supervised by program leadership. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the assigned division including personnel, equipment and scheduling of work. Receives direction from and reports to the Manager – Facility Management & Public Works.
Experience: Three (3) years of related experience required.
Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
Licenses & Certifications: Valid, insurable NC Driver’s License required.
