Performs varied skilled phases of Rough and Finish Electrical work on Single Family Residential Units and Apartment Buildings that involve New Construction, Maintenance of and Rehab of existing units and subject to other projects as instructed.
- Interact with internal and external customers / clients in a polite and professional manner.
- Performs his/her daily duties under the instructions and leadership of the Licensed Electrician.
- Performs work on a daily/job basis, which includes constructing, modifying or demolition and replacement involving such items as layout, rough wiring, installing fixtures and final connections, testing, and trouble shooting, repair, replacement of existing systems.
- Performs all work in accordance with all policies, safety regulations and building codes.
- Performs Service Request on rental and homeownership units and must complete the proper documentation (all work completed, time used, and list any specifics of work performed) in regards to the service request to Supervisor to ensure completion and quality of work.
- Participates in training and safety programs. Must become knowledgeable of QHA Safety Rules and Guidelines.
- Performs work in an accurate and timely manner as scheduled.
- Assists with building layout, material and labor estimates as requested.
- Assists with inventory as needed or instructed.
- Assists or provides report information as requested.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area on a daily basis.
- Assists coworkers or departments as instructed or assigned by Supervisor.
- Supervises other employees, when regular supervisor is absent.
- Willing to perform other duties as assigned during lapse of regular schedule.
- Willing to work over and beyond the regular tour of duty.
- Must be able to work off hours during emergency situations (subject to on call status).
- Willing to work during inclement weather as needed.
- Responsible for material and equipment checked out to you.
This position is supervised by program leadership. This position is responsible for supervising others.
Experience: Training and experience equal to a minimum of five (5) years in the designated field.
Education: A high school diploma or a GED is required.
Licenses & Certifications: Valid, insurable NC Driver’s License required.
- Previous experience in construction preferred.
